Who this Program is For

— Kids ages 7-10 with beginning conversational skills

— Your child DOES NOT need a diagnosis to participate in this program

 


This Program Right for Your Child If…

  • Does my child have a hard time talking to peers and making friends?
  • Does my child have difficulty  transitioning between activities?
  • Does my child have difficulty behaving in large groups or noisy environments?
  • Does my child seem more  inflexible than others when dealing with changes in routine?
  • Does my child make inappropriate or off topic comments to others?
  • Does my child lack the confidence needed to engage in social situations?

About the Program

— Helps children become more aware of acceptable social behaviors and acquire basic social skills

— Focuses on social referencing, regulating behaviors and conversational skills

— Teaches cooperative play skills, coping skills, and social problem solving skills to gain confidence in a variety of play based situations

— Adds principles of the ALERT program to teach children to recognize, monitor and regulate their bodies using sensory-motor strategies

Each week we will focus on different activities designed to develop the skills needed to succeed in social situations

Each class will last 2 1/2 hours and will include a social snack time.

We ask that you please be prompt in picking up your child at the end of each session. The therapists will be available at that time to discuss the days activities and answer any questions.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

The Center will offer this 6 week program for a self pay tuition of $300.

Registration deadline is Friday, June 9, 2017.  Camp fee of $300 must be paid in full by June 10th,  and is non-refundable once camp has started.

If CareSource or Medicaid (excluding Molina, Paramount, Buckeye & UnitedHealthcare Community Plan)is your primary health insurance, insurance may cover the cost of the Summer Camp.  Medicaid or CareSource as your “secondary” health insurance cannot be used to cover the cost of camp.

A sliding fee scale and financial scholarships may be available, based on family need and availability of funds. Proof of income and prior approval must be made in advance.
