Based on the writing readiness principles of “Handwriting Without Tears”
The Children’s developmental Center is offering a 6 week summer Kindergarten Readiness program based on the “Handwriting Without Tears” principles.
Before children write their ABC’s, they need a strong foundation in sensory-motor and cognitive skills. The program will include prewriting activities and exercises to focus on the development of eye-hand coordination and motor, sensory and cognitive skills. These fun-filled activities are designed to improve posture, sensory awareness, cutting skills, pencil grasp, spatial orientation, shape formation and problem solving skills.
The program is designed for children who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2017.
Please note this program will cover aspects of letter construction and pre-writing skills but is NOT formal handwriting instruction.
