The Children’s Developmental Center has been providing therapy services to special needs children and their families since 1954. The Center is the only facility in Lorain County dedicated to serving only children and has developed a great reputation as a facility that can make a difference in the life of a child.
The Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping special needs children with physical, communicative, and developmental challenges. Our motto is to teach families to understand their child’s special need and educate them to help us improve their child’s skills.
The Center is a United Way partner agency and has accreditation from the Ohio Department of Health as a Medicare/Medicaid provider and is a provider for most major insurance companies.
The Center is a fee for service facility, but has a sliding fee schedule for families that qualify. The Center accepts contributions and donations and encourages you to support the Center with your generosity. The Center has received major grant support from The Nord family Foundation, The Community Foundation of Lorain County, Nordson Corporation Foundation, The Stocker Foundation, First Merit Bank and many other community organizations and individuals. The Center also wishes to express its gratitude for the years of support from both the Lorain Elks Lodge 1301 and the Elyria Elks Lodge 465.
